Glory to God in the Highest!

Have you ever thought about what your legacy would be, after you are gone?  What would people say about you tomorrow, if you were gone today?

"When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting."

As I was pondering these questions myself, a thought occurred to me.
It is clear in God's Word that He is to be Lord of our life. This means all our decisions and choices should be based on His word and what he calls us to do. Why then do we constantly strive to please others around us? If Christ is the One who truly matters  then our only thoughts and actions should be directed towards honoring Him, and bringing glory to His name. If we do this, the rest will simply fall into place. Of course, as humans, we do want glory and praise from other mortals on this earth.  However this is not what we should strive towards.

"Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved."

What people think of us, when we are gone, should not be our goal. Our goal should be to glorify God in this life, tell others about Him, and be ready to serve Him to the ends of the earth.

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Take heart, for he will come. Strive to bring glory to his most holy name and he will give you the strength you need to get through each day.

"He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
