A Great Reminder

Here is a passage of scripture that I read in my quiet time this morning. I thought you all would enjoy reading it as well. I've read this many times before, but it was good to read it again. What a good reminder (verse 1) that unless the Lord is on our side, our efforts are worthless! We need to do all to the glory of him, and be ready to follow his call for our life.

I especially like the last verses. What an encouraging verses: To raise up children for God's kingdom! They are such a blessing, and what an amazing call we have to bring them up in the love and admiration of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am extremely blessed to be raised in a large family, and Lord willing, I'll have one of my own someday. I need to remember though, The Lord knows what's best for me, no matter what my plans and greatest desires are; they all must be submitted up to Him.

God Bless.

Resting in Him,

Kelsey

Psalm 127 (King James Version)

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Thanks Kelsey for sharing this. It is encouraging.

Me and my family sing that psalm. I can't remember where we learned the tune though. It is beautiful, one of my favorites!

That is a great reminder Kelsey. I don't know how many times I haven't paid attention to that verse!

Blessings to you,
